"Lirum Larum Löffelstiel, this headpiece is subtle… comes to my mind spontaneously. Monika Hutter created a headpiece for me that combines aesthetic standards with certain character traits of the wearer, namely: enjoying good cooking and enjoying good eating. She achieved this with a hairband wrapped in multicolored wool threads, to which on the left side a likewise wrapped ring is attached, serving as a holder for nine radially protruding Spanish wooden spoons as used for tapas. Wit and elegance are congenially connected in such a way that they form a unity – or in other words: the hairband becomes an art object."

Susanna Partsch, Art Historian

"The ‘Braidhat’ by Monika Hutter convinced us as a smart object that breaks with visual habits. What appears to be a classic traditional hat turns out, upon closer inspection, to be a multi-layered commentary on cultural appropriation, identity, and visibility. For our collection and the exhibition anders beTRACHTet, it is a central object: it raises important current questions and opens up new perspectives on traditional costume and tradition."

Lea Sophie Rodenberg – Head of Clothing Culture Collection, Collection Tracht – Gwand – Mode, Open-Air Museum Glentleiten of the District of Upper Bavaria

"Monika Hutter's imaginative textile art captivates with its subtle humor, through which she links her inventive objects to socially relevant themes and provokes critical discussion. Monika Hutter uses a wide variety of materials for her visually appealing creations and designs original, one-of-a-kind pieces with precision craftsmanship and attention to detail. We are delighted to have some of Monika Hutter's interesting works in our collection."

Dr. Isabella Belting, Leiterin der Sammlung Mode/Textilien im Münchner Stadtmuseum

"For many years, Monika Hutter has shaped the education of young talents at AMD Akademie Mode & Design. Her teaching is characterized by inspiration, openness, and a rare ability to make each individual’s creative potential visible. Projects such as Frida Kahlo – Fashion & Pain demonstrate how she encourages students to rethink materiality and to develop forms of expression beyond the conventional. Monika Hutter thus embodies an artistic attitude that is at once visionary and grounded: a creator who, with passion, experience, and curiosity, builds bridges between art, craft, and theory—while always bringing others along on this journey."
